December 20, 2011 - Central Hockey League (CHL)
Dayton Gems News Release
Dayton, OH - The Dayton Gems professional hockey team, a proud member of the Central Hockey League, are excited to release additional details on this week's upcoming promotions including the much anticipated Angry Birds Night when they return to Cassano's Italian Ice inside the historic Hara Arena on Thursday and Friday evenings.
The Gems return to action on Thursday night when they host the Texas Brahmas at 7pm for the first time this season at Hara. Thursday night's game is presented by Premier Rental Purchase, and features another "Thirsty Thursday" promotion, complete with the popular dollar select draft beer offer with the first 500 fans through the gates starting at 6pm receiving a limited edition Greg Labenski stadium cup. College students can get special 2-for-1 tickets by showing their valid College ID at the Hara box office, while fans who wear any NBA apparel will receive $4 off any corner zone ticket at the box office.
Friday night welcomes the first place Fort Wayne Komets to town at 7pm, and is the much anticipated "Angry Birds Night", celebrating the ultra-popular game.
The first 500 lucky fans through the gates beginning at 6pm will get their very own plush Angry Bird (with some smug little green pigs thrown in) as they're greeted by life-sized Angry Birds characters roaming the concourse. There will also be Angry Birds inspired contests and promotions throughout the night as fans will have the chance to win Angry Birds prizes during the course of the game with the Komets.
Fans who have always wanted to put themselves in the Angry Birds action will have the chance, as the Gems will even be playing a real life version of the slingshot game on the ice during the first intermission. Additionally, fans who show their Angry Birds game on their smartphone or wear any Angry Birds apparel will receive $2 off an adult ticket at the box office on gameday.
Friday night's game is also the return of the annual "Teddy Bear Toss", and fans are encouraged to bring a new or gently used stuffed toy and toss it out onto the ice once the Gems score their first goal of the night. The Gems will collect the donations from the ice, and distribute them to area children in need.
Tickets for both Thursday and Friday night's home games at Hara are available now by calling the Gems ticket office at 275-7777 or by visiting www.DaytonGems.com
Looking for a family-friendly night out for your family, group or workplace? Discounted tickets are available for groups of ten or more, and include special group perks. Call Shawn or Patrick 275-7777 for details.
