Wichita's Adam Russo Named Oakley CHL Goaltender of the Week

GLENDALE, AZ (December 20, 2011) -The Central Hockey League announced today that Wichita's Adam Russo has been named the Oakley Central Hockey League Goaltender of the Week for the period ending December 18, 2011.
It marks the second time this season that Russo has won the weekly award (Nov. 29) and it gives the Thunder a clean sweep with the league's weekly awards as forward Thomas Beauregard was named the Oakley CHL Player of the Week on Monday.

The Montreal native started off his week on Tuesday night against one of the hottest teams in the CHL, the Fort Wayne Komets, earning the win with 24 saves on 27 shots. He then started back-to-back games against the Rio Grande Valley Killer Bees combining to stop 58 of 59 shots as the Thunder won 4-1 on Friday night and 3-0 on Saturday night.
On the season, Russo is tied for second in the league with 12 wins, third in the league with a 2.47 goals against average and first overall with three shootout wins.
Wichita is currently tied for first place in the Berry Conference with a 17-7-0 record and enter play this week riding a five-game win streak.
