The Dayton Gems traveled to McMorran Arena to face the Port Huron Icehawks to play their 4th game in 5 days. The Icehawks came out strong to start the evening with a goal 3:19 in. Dayton made their move when Sam Bloom scored with the help of captain Greg Labenski and Mike Vaskivou. With less than 5 minutes left in the period Labenski pushed the Gems ahead assisted by Matt Auffrey and Jon Ornelas Gems 2 - Icehawks 1. The only point in the 2nd was Port Huron to even the score. The 3rd period belonged to the Icehawks scoring 3 goals and finishing the night Dayton 2 - Port Huron 5. Gems record is now 12/12/3/1.
Gems next home game is Wednesday, December 30th at 7pm at Hara. It'll be ring in the New Year so bring your jingle bells and cow bells to help the Gems defeat the Fort Wayne Komets. All adult seats $10. Students and children 12 and under $7. Parking at Hara Arena is free.
