Dayton Gems News Release

Dayton, OH - The Dayton Gems professional hockey team, proud members of the "AA" Central Hockey League, announced the addition of defenseman Dustin DeGagne to the roster.

DeGagne, a 26 year old native of Winnipeg, Manitoba, joins the Gems after most recently spending the first half of this season playing overseas in the Netherlands for the Turnhout White Caps. Scoring an impressive 22 points in just 24 games this season, DeGagne also amassed 58 total penalty minutes while in Turnhout.

Prior to jumping the pond, DeGagne began his professional career in the CHL with the now-defunct Bloomington PrairieThunder, suiting up for 58 games during the 2010-2011 campaign.

Playing a lengthy junior and collegiate career, DeGagne saw action in the North American Hockey League and British Columbia Hockey League before attending Union College and later the College of St. Scholastica to play NCAA hockey.

He is expected to make his debut in a Gems sweater on Tuesday night when Dayton hosts the Rapid City Rush inside Hara Arena.

Tickets for Tuesday evening's special 6:30 "Family Night" game are still available by calling the Gems at 275-7777 or by visiting www.DaytonGems.com. Gates will open to the public starting at 5:30pm, with the first 1,000 fans receiving a limited edition Gems player card set.
