July 11, 2014 - United Soccer League Championship (USL)
Dayton Dutch Lions News Release

DAYTON, Ohio - After a hattrick by Aaron Schoenfeld and a solid team performance ending in a 3-1 win in Charlotte, the Lions (5-11-2, 17 points) are playing the Harrisburg City Islanders (4-7-4, 16 points) this Saturday July 12 at 7.00pm at DOC Stadium. The game is key since both teams are trying to get in a play off spot (numbers 1 to 8 qualify). The teams played each other twice already this season in Harrisburg, resulting in a 1-0 win and 5-3 loss. Earlier this week Schoenfeld was named USL Player of the Week for his three goals.

Head Coach Sid van Druenen had this to say on the upcoming game: "After a good win in Charlotte last weekend, it's important that we start winning our games at home. We owe that to our fans. For that it's crucial that we play our hearts out on Saturday and I am sure the boys will do that since they know how important this game is for us. A win puts us really close to a play-off spot again and gives us momentum, with the next four games this month at home against teams that we have beaten before in the season".

After this game the Lions play the Charlotte Eagles at home at DOC Stadium on Saturday July 19 at 7.00pm. Tickets for the game can be purchased at www.ddlfc.com.
