WDTN Sports Director Jack Pohl will join Saturday, and Sunday's broadcast as color commentator.

Thursday, June 23 and Friday, June 24 are Wendy's Friends and Family Games at Day Air Ballpark in the Heart of the Water Street District. Kroger Baseball Buddies
Kroger Baseball Buddies continues on Saturday, June 25 and Sunday, June 26. Children ages 7-13 can enter to win to be a Kroger Baseball Buddy. Each winner will get to enter the ballpark early on game days, receive a custom Dragons jersey, hat, backpack, autographed baseball, photo opportunities, Kids Meal voucher to spend at the ballpark, and more souvenirs. Fireworks Night
The Dragons have scheduled six post-game fireworks shows at Day Air Ballpark during the 2022 season, with the second of the year set for Saturday, June 25. All of the shows are presented by Associated Builders and Contractors. The fireworks show will begin after the conclusion of the Dragons game, beginning at 7:05 p.m.
Veterans Salute
The Dayton Dragons and CareSource have partnered to bring a season long tribute to our local veterans with the Veteran Salute program. On June 26, our veteran is William Zimmerman who served 21 years in the Navy. He began his military career in 1965 served abord the USS Enterprise at the height of the Vietnam War. Upon his return to the United States in 1969 he continued to serve in the Naval Reserves until 1990. William earned many service medals including the Vietnam Service Medal with a Bronze Star. Please join us in celebrating this honoree as part of CareSource's Veteran Salute!
Kettering Health's Dragon for a Day
On Sunday, June 26, Kettering Health's Dragon for a Day will provide your family the opportunity to learn about all the healthy habits that go into becoming a professional baseball player! Kids can take batting practice and run the bases on the plaza pre-game.
Dragons On The Field
The Dragons are in first place in the Midwest League East Division, holding a lead of one-half game over second place Great Lakes. The Dragons have four games to play (all at home vs. Lake County). Great Lakes has three to play (all at Fort Wayne).
Elly De La Cruz (seventh youngest position player in the league with at least 100 AB) over his last 22 games is batting .360 with seven home runs and 20 RBI. De La Cruz is second in the MWL in extra base hits (31), second in batting average (.304), second in slugging percentage (.594), tied for second in RBI (43), fourth in home runs (13).
Allan Cerda over his last 16 games has six home runs and 14 RBI.
Justice Thompson over his last 25 games is batting .292 with three home runs with 15 RBI.
Nick Quintana over his last 20 games is batting .290 with 16 RBI.
Joe Boyle has an earned run average of 0.78 and opponent's batting average of .089 on the year, but he is four innings short of having the minimum number of innings to qualify for the league lead.
Connor Phillips is tied for first in the MWL lead in strikeouts with 84 and first in opponent batting average (.171). Since April 28, Phillips has made eight starts, posting a 2.35 ERA (46 IP, 26 H, 14 R, 12 ER, 17 BB, 63 SO).
The Dragons have ten players on MLB Pipeline's Top 30 Reds Prospects list, and seven of the Top 17. This group is headlined by 20-year-old switch-hitting infielder Elly De La Cruz. De La Cruz is the second rated prospect in the Reds organization (No. 71 in MLB) after signing as an international free agent out of the Dominican Republic in 2018. Other top prospects on the Dragons roster include outfielder Rece Hinds, outfielder Austin Hendrick, catcher Mat Nelson, right-handed pitcher Connor Phillips, right-handed pitcher Christian Roa, infielder Jose Torres, outfielder Allan Cerda, outfielder Justice Thompson, and right-handed pitcher Joe Boyle.
