Dayton Bombers Announce Don MacAdam as Head Coach

Dayton, OH – The Dayton Bombers have officially announced that co-owner Don MacAdam will assume the role of Head Coach. Coaching duties will be in addition to his duties as General Manager.

Over the past 26 years, MacAdam has coached at elite levels ranging from the NHL to college hockey. He started coaching professionally as an assistant coach with the Detroit Red Wings from 1986-1989. His tenure in Detroit was followed by 5 years as a head coach in the American Hockey League with Edmonton Oilers and Ottawa Senators "AAA" affiliated teams.

A native of Morell, Prince Edward Island, MacAdam has enjoyed a great deal of success in coaching. He won a coach of the year award at the Canadian university level, a Stanley Cup ring as a member of the Edmonton Oilers organization, a championship in the Japan professional league and was selected as one of the "50 Most Interesting People in Charlotte" by Charlotte Magazine, while head coach and general manager of the Charlotte Checkers of the ECHL.

Dayton Bombers President and Managing Partner Costa Papista stated, "The credibility that Don brings to this franchise will be invaluable. Don's long history of player development will make Dayton, Ohio a great destination for young hockey prospects with NHL aspirations."

MacAdam has a Masters degree in Physical Education with a concentration in sports administration from the University of New Brunswick.

The Dayton Bombers are the proud affiliate of the NHL's Columbus Blue Jackets and a member of the ECHL - America's Premier "AA" Hockey League.
