Dawgs take game 8-5

Wachusett Dirt Dawgs News Release


LEOMINSTER, Mass - Mike Lundin (Franklin Pierce) shined for the Dirt Dawgs as they took the game 8-5 against the Torrington Titans. Lundin pitched seven innings, four hits, five strikeouts, and just one run.

The Dirt Dawgs offense was led by Joe Breen (Southern Connecticut) who went 2-2 with one RBI and scored two runs. Rider Miconi (William and Mary) and Kurtis White (Franklin Pierce) each had two RBIs on the night. Mattingly Romanin (Chicago State), Michael Rizzitello (Dowling), and Richard Fecteau (Salem State) each added two hits.

The Titans made a late push scoring runs in the three runs in the top of the ninth. Michael Odenwaelder (Amherst) had a home run in the second inning for the Dirt Dawgs. RJ Going (Dowling) was the only Titan with multiple hits on the night.

The Dirt Dawgs will take on the Old Orchard Beach Raging Tide on June 22 at 4:35. Dan Ditusa (Seton Hall) will take the mound for the Dirt Dawgs. The Dirt Dawgs will also be honoring the Leominster Blue Devils on their state championship.
