
Davis Scores Team-Leading 21st Goal Of Season

WENATCHEE, Wash. - JonoDavis (La Verne, Calif.) scored his team-leading 21st goal ofthe season Friday, but it wasn't enough for the Wenatchee Wild who suffered a 3-1loss to the Fresno Monsters at the Town Toyota Center.
Mitchell Snyder put the Monsters up 1-0 Friday when hescored a power-play goal with 8:50 left in the first period on a feed from MarkBittner.
The Wild evened the score, 1-1, two minutes and 12 secondsinto the third period when Davis notched his team-leading 21st goalof the season. Davis scored from the slot after collecting his own rebound. David Mead (Conklin, N.Y.) and Noah Nelson (Oconomowoc, Wis.)assisted.
The Monsters reclaimed the lead, 2-1, two minutes afterDavis' goal when Trevor Husch scored on a short-handed rush off of a crispbreakout pass from Christian Salvato.
Fresno extended its lead to 3-1, the eventual final, when JacobMcDowell banged in an even-strength marker with a little over eight minutesremaining in regulation.
Monster goalie Tomas Sholl made 41 saves on 42 shots to earnthe win over the Wild. Wenatchee goalie RobertNichols (Dallas, Texas) made 23 saves on 26 shots. Fresno scored onepower-play goal on two tries while the Wild went 0-for-4 on the power play.
The Wild (26-6-3) will try to get back on track Saturdaywhen they square off against the Monsters. Faceoff is set for 7:05 p.m.
