Ohio Valley Greyhounds News Release
The Ohio Valley Greyhounds of the UIF are pleased to announce the signing of quarterback Jose' Davis. Davis returns to the Greyhounds where he spent the 2001 and 2002 seasons following a successful stint in the Arena Football League. The Bellaire, Ohio native and Kent State product helped lead Ohio Valley to a (15-1) mark in 2002 and the team's first Indoor Bowl title. In the process Davis was named Indoor Bowl Game M.V.P. for his stellar performance in the Hounds 55-52 win over Billings.
During the 2002 campaign Davis completed 139-of-221 passing and tossed 35 touchdown passes. Following the 2002 season Davis took his game to the AFL's Indiana Firebirds signing with the team as a free agent. Serving as the team's backup Davis was pressed into duty and started a pair of contests. Over his run at the controls for the Firebirds Davis completed 59-of-111 passing for 618 yards and eight touchdowns.
In 2003 Davis followed the lead of head coach Mike Dailey and headed to Colorado to sign with the Crush. Davis played two seasons backing up quarterback John Dutton. Davis saw his most extensive action this season connecting on 13-of-22 passing for 110 yards and two scores. This season the Crush captured the Arena Bowl title.
The Greyhounds (6-6) will return to the practice field both Tuesday and Wednesday nights at Wesbanco Arena beginning at 7:00 P.M. As always practice sessions are open to all media and fans.
