Mohegan Wolves News Release
New London, CT (July 17th, 2002)- The first starting quarterback in Mohegan Wolves history will not be with the team for the final two games of the season. The af2 did for Cable Davis exactly what it is designed to do, helped him move up to a higher league. Cable has joined the Edmonton Eskimos of the Canadian Football League.
Davis, who had started every game for the Wolves prior to last week, attended a private workout in Canada during the Wolves bye week. He impressed the Eskimos coaching staff enough to be signed to their practice squad with the intention of joining the team once he has learned their offensive system.
Davis has excelled as a rookie quarterback for the Wolves. He is currently 10th in the af2 in passing yards with an average of 224.4 yards per game. Cable has passed for 41 touchdowns on the year as well.
