Stockton Thunder News Release
STOCKTON, Calif. - The Stockton Thunder, a two-time recipient of the ECHL "Award of Excellence," is proud to announce that Vice President of Sales Dave Piecuch has been awarded the 2010-2011 ECHL Ticket Executive of the Year Award for the past hockey season.
The recipient of the award is selected by a vote of league general managers and ticketing managers, and is presented to the individual who has demonstrated success in ticket sales.
Piecuch, who also earned this award in 2008, leads a team of seven in the Thunder's ticketing sales department. He is also the second member of the Thunder's front office to receive an ECHL award this summer, as President Dan Chapman was named ECHL Executive of the Year last week.
Piecuch's second award distinguishes him as one of three front office members in Thunder history to earn an ECHL individual award, joining Chapman and Mike Benton (Media Relations Award of Excellence, 2008-09).
Under Piecuch's direction, the Thunder had a four percent increase in overall ticket revenue, led by a 28% increase in group sales during the 2010-11 season. Stockton finished second in the ECHL with an average of 6,382 fans per game, the team's best attendance since the 2007-08 season. The Thunder have averaged over 6,000 fans per game in each of their six seasons in the league and led the ECHL in attendance for their first four seasons before finishing third in 2009-10.
