Dates Set for Charleston Battery Summer Youth Programs

CHARLESTON - Charleston Battery Youth Programs presented by Lloyd's Soccer Sports returns for summer 2016 with its usual lineup of popular offerings.

In addition to three weeks of half-day camp at Governors Park, Daniel Island, the Battery will host three weeks of full-day camp at the MUSC Health Stadium soccer complex. The club will also offer a weekly Junior Academy program for competitive players, and a weekly Tiny Tots program for younger children age 3 - 6.

Under the overall direction of Charleston Battery Coach Mike Anhaeuser and former Battery star and Suarez Soccer School director Temoc Suarez, youth camps at MUSC Health Stadium offer a variety of fun, challenging soccer clinics for all ages and skill levels. As in previous years, the camps' coaching roster will include current and former Battery players. Campers in full-day programs in June and July will be able to watch the Euro 2016 tournament on large-screen television during their lunch breaks.

All camps have a staff-to-camper ratio of not more than 1:12. Registration is available over the phone at 843.475.3366 via Temoc Suarez, or online here.

Charleston Battery Day Camp at MUSC Health Stadium

The MUSC Health Stadium program is a week-long day-camp for boys and girls ages 5-12. Coached by former Charleston Battery striker and US youth national team player Temoc Suarez and his staff, the camp is designed to develop the fundamental techniques of soccer in a friendly learning environment.

Camps run from 9 a.m.to 4 p.m. daily and are held at the Charleston Battery soccer complex. A full-time certified athletic trainer will be on site throughout the camp, and Friday sessions include a meet-and-greet with Charleston Battery players.

Dates: June 13-17, July 18-22, August 1-5

Week of full-day camp (9 a.m. - 4 p.m.): $260

Week of half-day camp (9 a.m. - noon): $160

Includes: Lunch (full-day only), Charleston Battery game ticket, camp jersey (for an additional $20 fee), Nike ball (choose from sizes 3-5, additional $20 fee), Nike mini ball (additional $15 fee)

Charleston Battery Day Camp at Governor's Park

The day camp at Governor's Park on Daniel Island is a collaboration between the Charleston Battery and the City of Charleston to provide a fun soccer experience in one of our city's beautiful public parks. Also taught by Suarez Soccer School, the camp is for boys and girls ages 5-12 and runs from 9 a.m. to noon daily. A full-time certified athletic trainer will be on site throughout the camp and Friday sessions include a meet-and-greet with Charleston Battery players.

Battery Day Half-Day Camp

Dates: June 6-10, June 20-11, July 11-15

Week of half-day camp (9 a.m. to noon): $160

Includes: Camp jersey and Charleston Battery game ticket.

Charleston Battery Junior Academy

The Charleston Battery Junior Academy is aimed toward advanced, dedicated soccer players between the ages of 7 and 14 looking for an extended summer program. Coaching for the Junior Academy program is handled by Charleston Battery technical staff under the supervision of Coach Anhaeuser.

All Junior Academy sessions are held on Monday evenings at MUSC Health Stadium, Daniel Island.

Summer Session: June 6 - August 8 (Mondays 6-8 p.m.)

Cost: $260

Includes: Charleston Battery training uniform (jersey & shorts) and Charleston Battery game ticket.

Tiny Tots

The Charleston Battery Tiny Tots program is a fun and convenient way to bring soccer into your child's life. The program, traditionally coached by current Charleston Battery players, is designed to develop coordination, self confidence, motor skills and elementary soccer techniques in a fun learning environment. Tiny Tots is for children ages 3-6 and held at MUSC Health Stadium, Daniel Island.

Summer: June 8 -July 27 (Wednesdays 3:30-4:30 PM)

Cost $150
