WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. (March 12, 2015) - The sixth season of Winston-Salem Dash baseball at BB&T Ballpark commences with the organization's annual Coaches Luncheon on Tuesday, April 7, from noon to 1 p.m. inside the Womble Carlyle Club at BB&T Ballpark.

The Coaches Luncheon marks the first public appearance of the Dash's 2015 team, which will open its schedule two days later with a week-long road trip. New Winston-Salem manager Tim Esmay will discuss the upcoming season, and all players will be introduced to the audience. The Dash will also announce two special awards for the 2015 season-their Service Through Sports Award winner and official charity partner.

All seats for the Coaches Luncheon are $12 each, and admission includes lunch and parking in the Founders Lot off Peters Creek Parkway. Plus, at least one member of the Dash's roster will be seated at most tables. Tickets must be purchased in advance via credit card by calling (336) 714-6874. Last year, this event sold out, so fans are encouraged to purchase their seats early.

The Service Through Sports Award honors an individual who has made a lasting, widespread impact through his or her local involvement in athletics. Here are the previous Service Through Sports Award winners:

2010: Clarence "Big House" Gaines, the late Winston-Salem State University men's basketball coach

2011: Tom Walter, Wake Forest University's baseball head coach

2012: Bob and Lisa Gfeller, creators of the Matthew Gfeller Foundation

2013: Rich Brenner, the late sportscaster at Fox 8 (WGHP-TV)

2014: Howard West, longtime high school boys basketball coach

The official charity partner benefits from the proceeds of the club's Commemorative Brick Program, through which fans can purchase an engraved brick that is installed outside BB&T Ballpark's main gates beyond right-center field. Here is a list of the Dash's past charity partners:

2010: Brenner Children's Hospital

2011: Centers for Exceptional Children

2012: Ronald McDonald House of Winston-Salem

2013: Habitat for Humanity of Forsyth County

2014: Senior Services

The Coaches Luncheon coincides with the Dash's annual Media Day, which immediately follows the lunch festivities. Local media members will interview Dash players and coaches and watch the club's first team workout at BB&T Ballpark for 2015.

"From the team introductions to the award announcements, our Coaches Luncheon ushers in another season of Dash baseball tremendously well," Dash President Geoff Lassiter said. "This event is our first true taste of the baseball season here in Winston-Salem, and we cannot wait to see everyone at the luncheon on April 7."

Single-game tickets and season-ticket packages for the 2015 season are on sale now. Fans can guarantee their seats to the biggest games, including 35 weekend contests, by calling (336) 714-2287 or visiting wsdash.com.
