Darryl Henry Relieved of Duties
March 24, 2009 - Indoor Football League (IFL)
Saginaw Sting News Release
The Saginaw Sting have announced that offensive coordinator Darryl Henry has been released of his duties with the Saginaw Sting. Sting Head Coach Carl Featherstone will take over play calling duties on the offensive side of the ball starting with Sunday's game at home against the Rochester Raiders.
The ownership of the Saginaw Sting and President of Football operations Mike Newvine felt that the offense was not running on all cylinders and communication between players and coach had been strained.
"We want to Thank Darryl Henry for the time he spent with the Saginaw Sting and wish him the
best," Newvine said. We have championship playmakers on this team and we need to utilize that talent to the fullest. We expect to win every time we step on the field, that's not going to change."
Newvine also added that he hopes the Sting fan base sees this move as how dedicated they are to winning.
"We are here to entertain the fans of the Tri-City area and win," he said. "We will make those changes when we feel it is necessary."
Sunday contest is set for 4 p.m. at the Dow Event Center.
