
Danville pushes win streak to five with 4-0 victory

Danville, VAâ Danville shut out the Princeton Devil Rays 4-0 on Thirsty Thursday at Legion Field.
Lefthanders Kelvin Villa and Nelson Payano combined to shut down the Devil Rays' offense. Villa pitched the first four innings of the ballgame and allowed only two hits. Payano relieved Villa in the fifth inning and allowed only one runner to reach base in his five innings of work.
Derrick Arnold and Mark Jurich both hit solo home runs for the Braves.
With the win, the Braves improve to 34-22 on the season, while the Devil Rays drop to 20-37 with the loss.
The two teams meet again tomorrow at 7 p.m. on Team Photo Night and Church Night at Legion Field. The first 1,000 fans through the gate will receive a free 2004 Danville Braves team photo courtesy of Virginia Bank and Trust. As part of the Church Night festivities, the contemporary Christian band Brothers Under the Son will perform at 6 p.m.
