Dubois County Bombers News Release
HUNGTINGBURG, Ind. - With a chance to be the first team to 30 wins in the Prospect League this season, the Dubois County Bombers lost 12-2 to the Danville Dans Wednesday night at League Stadium.
Max Homick earned the win for the Dans, pitching eight innings and surrendering two runs on six this and four walks. Homick struck out four.
He had ample support, courtesy of a two-run first, a three-run fourth and two-run fifth before that put Danville ahead 7-2.
Ryan Billo took the loss, lasting five innings but allowing seven earned runs on 12 hits and a walk while striking out four.
Nelson Marchan took over for innings six through eighth and surrendered only a solo home run to Danville third baseman Andrew Daniel.
On came Casey Devlin to pitch the ninth for the Bombers, but he struggled, retiring only one Dan and allowing four runs before Pichi Torres came in and finished the top of the ninth
Dubois County managed only one run in the first and another in the second.
The Bombers play the Rex in Terre Haute Thursday and Friday at 7:05 p.m. before returning to League Stadium for a 7:15 game Saturday vs. Hannibal and a 6:15 game Sunday against those same Cavemen.
Saturday is "Host Family Recognition Night," an appreciation of those families who accommodate Bombers players and staff, and Sunday is "Family Night," meaning all tickets are discounted two dollars.
