Dubois County Bombers News Release

DANVILLE, Ill. - John Rashid pitched six and two-thirds innings of one-run ball, and the Dubois County Bombers knocked off the Danville Dans 6-1 at Danville Stadium for their second win in a row.

In his first start of the season and eleventh appearance overall, Rashid limited the Dans to six hits and four walks while striking out five.

He left with the bases loaded and two out in the bottom of the seventh and was spelled by Burt Kudrecki, who hit Andrew Alvaraez with his first pitch to force in Tyler Fullerton for Danville's only run

Kudrecki retired Wes Perkins to end the threat and pitched a scoreless eighth and ninth to close out the Dans.

Opposing Rashid was Danville starter Mat Snider, who went five innings and surrendered four runs - three earned - on seven hits and a pair of walks. He struck out three.

Landon Curry reached on an error with one out in the third and, two batters later, scored when Dalton Rouleau ripped a two-out double to left field.

Two innings later, in the fifth Austin Nyman and Curry led off with singles before Bo Ausmus launched a home run to left.

Dubois County scored a run in the sixth off of reliever Zach Gordon, who allowed that run as he pitched the sixth and seventh for Danville.

After the Dans pulled to within 5-1 in the seventh, the Bombers scored one more in the eighth to close out the scoring.

The Bombers and Dans play Wednesday at 7:15 p.m. at League Stadium in Huntingburg, Ind.
