May 21, 2012 - Canadian American League (Can-Am)
New Jersey Jackals News Release
New Jersey Jackals center fielder Danny Santiesteban has been named the Can-Am League's Batter of the Week.
Don't let his spot in the line-up fool you. The nine-hitter for all four games against the Kansas City T-Bones was 8-18 with two home runs and five RBIs at the plate in the abbreviated opening week here in 2012. Behind Santiesteban's bat, the Jackals won three of their four games against Kansas City. They sit tied for first place in the Can-Am League.
The Jackals signed the Miami native back on January 9th. Last season, Santiesteban led the Newark Bears in doubles (26), triples (8), RBIs (74), and batting average (.326). He was tied for the lead in home runs (13).
Santiesteban and the Jackals continue their season when they face the Wichita Winguts here in Wichita. The three-game series beings tonight at 8:05ET. Kyle Greenwalt will make his first start of the season for the Jackals, while Ben Graham does the same for the Wingnuts.
