GARY, Ind. - Daniel Minor was named the American Association Pointstreak Pitcher of the Week for the week of July 23-29. It was the second time this season he had won the honor, previously earning the award for the week of June 18-24. He is the first player in the AA to earn multiple weekly honors in 2018.

In his final start with the RailCats before joining the Mexican League's Saltillo Saraperos, Minor threw the first nine-inning shutout of his career on July 25, shutting out Sioux Falls on six hits. He struck out eight and walked none in a career-high 136-pitch effort.

The shutout was his eighth win in a row, capping off a stretch dating back to June 19 during which he compiled a 1.42 ERA with 43 strikeouts and just six walks over 57.0 innings pitched.

Minor currently leads the American Association with 11 wins (against two losses) and 97.0 innings in a league-high 15 starts. His 2.50 ERA ranks second in the league. After being acquired from the Winnipeg Goldeyes on August 10, 2017, Minor went 14-3 with a 2.22 ERA over 22 appearances (21 starts) as a RailCat.

The RailCats finish off a five-game series tonight against the Cleburne RailRoaders at the Depot at Cleburne Station. The RailCats will play Tuesday in Wednesday against the Texas AirHogs in Grand Prarie before returning home for a 7:10 tilt against the Wichita Wingnuts on Friday night.
