Danger Head to Iowa Saturday for Rematch
April 12, 2018 - Indoor Football League (IFL)
Nebraska Danger News Release
In the second match-up between the Nebraska Danger and Iowa Barnstormers, both teams will be looking to separate themselves from the middle of the pack in the IFL, and to keep up with Arizona and Sioux Falls, who are both 4-1 entering Week 8 of the season.
The last time Iowa and Nebraska met, the Danger escaped with a 43-32 win in a game where Iowa star QB Drew Powell just couldn't get going. Powell went 16-for-30 through the air, still connecting for four touchdowns along the way, but considering Powell is the league's 3rd-leading passer - it was a down game.
On the other side of the ball, it was a defensive showcase for the Danger, who recorded two sacks and forced two fumbles while recovering one. This time, however, the game will be played in Des Moines and away from the friendly confines of the Heartland Events Center in Grand Island. So far this season, the Danger have gone 1-1 away from home.
Offensively for Nebraska, quarterback Jesse Scroggins is still finding his feet, nearly leading his team to a win against Sioux Falls on April 7th. The Danger certainly hope to secure a win this weekend, as they'll get a return trip from Sioux Falls to Grand Island on Friday, April 27th.
The team will also hope to ride the coattails of return specialist Korey Ringer, who earned this week's Nebraska Danger Player of the Week honor. He's helped pace the team to a league-leading return yard average for teams who have fielded at least 35 kickoffs on the season.
Kickoff is set for 7:05 p.m. at the Wells Fargo Arena in Des Moines, Iowa this Saturday, April 14.
