Nebraska Danger News Release

GRAND ISLAND, NE - Against the IFL's best team, Davonte Sapp-Lynch made a name for himself.

The Nebraska Danger running back rushed for a TD and returned a kickoff for a TD in a 56-46 loss to the Rattlers on Saturday, but it's because of Lynch's timely scores that the Danger were able to make the IFL's lone unbeaten sweat to the finish.

After both teams were held scoreless in the opening quarter, both Arizona and Nebraska found their stride in the second. The Rattlers eventually opened up a 21-7 lead with just 57 second remaining in the first half, but that's when Sapp-Lynch changed the landscape of the game.

The ensuing kickoff put the bulky tailback two yards into the Danger end zone, but he ran past every Rattler tackler en route to a 52-yard kickoff return for a TD that brought the Danger back within a score right before the half.

Sapp-Lynch then worked his magic again in the third quarter - again with the Danger trailing by two scores. With the Danger down 28-14, Sapp-Lynch took a handoff from star QB Tommy Armstrong and rumbled 13 yards into the end zone to make it a 28-20 game after a missed PAT.

On the legs of Sapp-Lynch, the Danger were able to make it just a four-point game in the fourth quarter against the unbeaten Rattlers, but Arizona scored two of the final three TD's in the game to escape with a 56-46 win.

The Danger is now healing from the tough loss on a bye week, and they'll be back in action Saturday, May 18th when they travel to take on another IFL power - the Sioux Falls Storm. Kickoff for the game is set for 7 p.m./CT.
