Danbury's Mike Bayrack earns UHL/Sher-Wood Player of the Week

Danbury, CT - The United Hockey League, in conjunction with the Danbury Trashers have announced that Trashers forward Mike Bayrack earned the Sher-Wood Player of the Week award for the period ending on January 30, 2005.

Bayrack earned the award for the second time in three weeks following a strong seven points on two goals in three games played last week. After assisting on goals in games on January 26th and 28th, the Calgary, Alberta native notched a five-point game (2G, 3A) on Saturday January 29th against Richmond in a Danbury 6-1 win over the RiverDogs. The five-point effort was the first in franchise history.

Currently leading the Trashers with 49 points on 28 goals, Bayrack is also leading the UHL with five shorthanded goals and his 28 goals ranks 3rd overall in the league. He finished the month of January with a team leading 22 points on 12 goals, including four shorthanded tallies.

The Trashers travel to Adirondack on February 2nd and 4th before a return home to the Danbury Ice Arena on February 5th in a 7:00pm game against Elmira and on the 6th at 2:00pm against Port Huron.

The Trashers have also partnered with Pure Country to provide a number of post-game specials for ticket holders at Pure Country's Super Bowl Party including a free 8oz burger and a ride on the mechanical bull ‘Bodacious' for patrons presenting a ticket stub from Sunday's game.
