
Danbury Shuts out Maryland to Split Series

The Danbury Jr. Hat Tricks bounced back against the Maryland Black Bears Saturday night, getting a 2-0 win and splitting the series. The two teams are battling for the fourth and final playoff spot in the North American Hockey League's East Division. Maryland currently holds that spot with 32 points, but Danbury has 30 and has played eight less games than Maryland.
The scoring was silent until the third period, where Danbury defenseman Nolan Barrett scored a slap shot goal on the power play to make it 1-0 Jr. Hat Tricks. Porter Schachle sealed the deal with an empty net goal for the Jr. Hat Tricks to make it a 2-0 final.
Maryland returns to action March 26th against the Northeast Generals. The Black Bears return to action April 2nd against the New Jersey Titans.
