Dallas Stars Recall Jordie Benn from Texas

CEDAR PARK, TX - The Texas Stars, proud American Hockey League affiliate of the Dallas Stars, announced today that Dallas has recalled defenseman Jordie Benn from Texas.

Benn, 25, has posted 21 points (7G-14A) with 33 penalty minutes in 43 games for Texas this season. The Victoria, B.C., native has appeared in 23 games with Dallas during the 2012-13 campaign, notching six points (1G-5A) with 10 penalty minutes. Earlier this season, Benn recorded his first career NHL goal on March 23 against the Colorado Avalanche. The 6-foot-1, 200-pound defenseman went undrafted and was signed by Dallas on July 25, 2012 to a one-year contract extension.

The Dallas Stars return to American Airlines Center to face off against the Los Angeles Kings on Tuesday night at 7:30 p.m. CT (TV: FOX Sports Southwest PLUS; Radio: 1310 The Ticket).

The Texas Stars will continue their five-game road trip on Thursday, April 11th as they travel to Charlotte for a 6:00 p.m. CT faceoff with the Checkers at Time Warner Cable Arena. The Stars next home game is on Friday, April 19th against the Houston Aeros at 7:30 p.m. Friday's game at Cedar Park Center is a $3 Beer Night and another Texas Lottery Lucky Section Night, where fans can win scratch off tickets from the Texas Lottery when the first Stars player scores a goal. 2013-14 Season Tickets are now on sale.
