Dallas Stars Assign Petersen & Wathier to Texas Stars

CEDAR PARK, Texas - The Texas Stars, proud American Hockey League affiliate of the Dallas Stars, announced today that Dallas has assigned center Toby Petersen and left wing Francis Wathier to Texas, leaving the Stars' NHL training camp roster at 38 players.
Petersen, 34, concluded his 13th season in professional hockey, spending a majority of the 2012-13 campaign with Texas. The 5-foot-10, 195-pound forward skated in 74 games with Texas last season, earning 24 points (8 goals, 16 assists) and six penalty minutes. The Bloomington, Minnesota native has played 398 career NHL games with the Pittsburgh Penguins, Edmonton Oilers and Dallas Stars, posting 81 points (33 goals, 48 assists) and 50 penalty minutes. Petersen was Pittsburgh's ninth-round selection (244th overall) in the 1998 NHL Draft.
Wathier, 28, earned 20 points (4 goals, 16 assists) in 2012-13 for Texas and posted 77 penalty minutes. The 6-foot-4, 210-pound forward has skated in 10 career NHL games and has spent his entire eight seasons in professional hockey with the Stars organization. The St. Isidore, Ontario native was Dallas' sixth-round selection (185th overall) in the 2003 NHL Draft
Both players appeared in one pre-season game for Dallas during this year's NHL training camp, suiting up for the Stars against the Florida Panthers on Friday, September 20th at AT&T Center in San Antonio.
Texas Stars training camp will begin when players report to Cedar Park Center on Tuesday, September 24th. The full Texas Stars training camp schedule will be released on Monday, September 23rd.
