Dallas Sidekicks Remain Undefeated with 5-2 Win over Rio Grande Valley

ALLEN, Texas- The Dallas Sidekicks have beaten the Rio Grande Valley Flash for the third time this season, Jamie Lovegrove scoring two goals in the 5-2 victory Thursday night.
The Sidekicks are now 7-0 in their comeback season, the team's best start since 1994.
Scoring began midway through the first quarter, Ricardinho getting one past Rio Grande Valley goaltender Jose Bontti at 11:00. Lovegrove was credited with the assist, and went on to put the Sidekicks up 2-0 at 14:32 with an unassisted goal of his own.
Juan Jalomo put Rio Grande Valley on the board at 5:20 in the second quarter, edging it past Sagu with a 1-2 touch from Damian Garcia. A few minutes later, Sean Bellomy struck back by cashing in on a pass from Franck Mbemba, shooting off to the side of Rio Grande Valley's net and making it past an outstretched goaltender Bontti at 8:54. Garcia answered back at 11:03, cutting the Sidekicks' lead to one going into halftime.
The third quarter was scoreless but the rough play seen in the first half continued, Rio Grande Valley committing three fouls and the Sidekicks one.
The Sidekicks took advantage of their first powerplay of the night in the fourth period at 7:16, Paolo da Silva getting a pass across the arc through Bontti and Rio Grande Valley's defense, creating an open net opportunity for Nick Stavrou.
Rio Grande Valley attempted to gain an advantage by adding a 6th attacker in the last few minutes of the game, but the score remained unchanged at 5-2 Sidekicks.
The Sidekicks will be on the road this weekend, taking on the Rockford Rampage Sunday, January 5 at 8:00 p.m. and the Chicago Mustangs on Sunday, January 6 at 7:00 p.m. The team's next home game is Saturday, January 12 at 7:00 p.m. at the Allen Event Center.
