Dallas Rattlers News Release
FRISCO, Texas - The Dallas Rattlers defeated the Atlanta Blaze after a thrilling four-goal run lifted the team to an overtime victory.
The game started slow for the Rattlers as the visitors piled on five goals to two through the first quarter. The second quarter would see the Rattlers start to wake up on offense as attackman Randy Staats and midfielder Jack Near led the team with two goals each.
The Rattlers were able to find an answer on defense at the start of the second half by allowing just two goals. Midfielders Ryan MacNamara and Brian Kormondy leveled the opposition's production with a goal each.
The fourth quarter of play would prove to be a key time in the game with a 6-2 run to force overtime. Just 30 seconds into extra time, Ryan MacNamara would find the back of the net for his third goal of the night to end the contest 15-14. The Rattlers improve to 4-2 on the season and will look to keep momentum going next Saturday, May 26 on the road against the Florida Launch.
