
Blaze Drop Overtime Road Game to Dallas Rattlers

Frisco, TX - In the last game of a month-long road trip the Blaze fell to the Dallas Rattlers in overtime at the Ford Center at the Star. The Blaze took control early, with Tommy Palasek scoring four goals in just the first quarter. The momentum was maintained throughout the first half, which ended 10-6, favoring the Blaze. A second-half effort by the Rattlers tied the game 14-14 which led to overtime, settled by a goal 30 seconds in.
Though Tommy Palasek dominated the first half, Matt Gibson and Kevin Rice also contributed, connecting from across the field or behind the goal to add points. Long Stick Midfielder (LSM) Scott Ratliff took five ground balls and netted his third goal of the season off of an assist from fellow captain Kevin Rice
For the fourth week in a row, goalie Chris Madalon started in the cage and saved 18 out of the 33 shots on goal fired by Dallas.
The Blaze's loss comes just ahead of a bye week, followed by a return to Fifth Third Bank Stadium for the Real Men Wear Pink Game against the New York Lizards. The game will honor breast cancer survivors, and is being put on in conjunction with the American Cancer Society.
