Daleo announces Lightning assistant coaching staff

The Rockford Lightning today announced their Assistant Coaching Staff for the 2005-2006 CBA season. Manning the bench for the Lightning this season are Dennis Truax, Acie Earl and Dave Stockton. All three have prior professional experience and should serve Head Coach Chris Daleo well as the Lightning look to continue their run of playoff appearances under Daleo's reign as Head Coach of the Lightning.

Dennis Truax joins the Rockford Lightning after a season with the Gary Steelheads. Truax served as the Steelheads Director of Media Relations and the Assistant Director of Basketball Operations. Prior to his time in the CBA, Truax served as the Director of Public Relations for the United States Basketball League (USBL) for five years. Truax was also responsible for all media related matters for the Steelheads and assisted with player procurement last season with the Steelheads. Truax will also serve as the Public Relations Director for the Lightning.

Acie Earl joins the Lightning after a 4-year NBA career and 9 years of overseas playing experience. Earl was a four-year starter at the University of Iowa where he is in the top ten of most major statistical career categories. These talents led him to be the 1st round pick of the Boston Celtics, 19th overall in the 1993 NBA Draft. After two years with the Celtics, Earl moved onto the Toronto Raptors. After two seasons with the Raptors and a brief stint with the Milwaukee Bucks, Earl moved on to the overseas markets where he was able to have a fine career. Earl played in such places as France, Austria, Turkey, Russia, Poland, and Yugoslavia, during his time overseas. Earl also coached the Tijuana Dragons of the ABA this past season.

David Stockton has been associated with winning high school basketball teams for the last 12 years in Northern Illinois. This is Stockton's second year with the Lightning Coaching Staff. Stockton was a key ingredient in the team's 26-22 record and a trip to the CBA Finals.

"I am very excited to work with these guys," said Coach Daleo. "They have to work hard and do everything in their power to bring Rockford a championship."
