Hickory, NC - The Crawdads held the Winston-Salem Dash to three hits in Sunday's series finale but couldn't pull out the victory, falling 2-1.
Winston-Salem put together a pair of runs in the fourth to take a 2-0 lead. Crawdads starter Ronny Henriquez exited after that inning, finishing his night with 2 earned runs allowed on 2 hits and 3 walks while striking out 3.
The 'Dads rallied in the fifth for a run to cut the Dash's lead in half. Pedro Gonzalez drew a two out walk and moved to third on a single by Kole Enright. Frainyer Chavez drove him in with a single to short.
The Crawdads threatened in the seventh, getting two runners on but were unable to get a run across to tie the game. They threatened again in the ninth with a leadoff double by David Garcia and put a second runner on as Gonzalez drew a walk but a Enright struck out and Chavez hit into a double play to end the game.
