July 13, 2005 - NBA G League (G League) News Release
TODAY AT LONG BEACH: D-League products Smush Parker, Earl Barron and Tim Pickett, all of whom played in the NBDL in 2004-05, will meet again today at the Summer Pro League in Long Beach as part of entries from the Lakers (Parker) and the Heat (Barron and Pickett). Between NBA stints and GATORADE Call-Ups, Parker and Pickett were teammates with the Florida Flame. Barron played for Huntsville, which has relocated to Albuquerque.
MERRITT MINUTES: Former Columbus (now Austin) forward Scott Merritt continues to get a good look in Long Beach, playing 40 minutes for the Mavericks on Tuesday. Merritt scored 13 points and had six rebounds.
FROM THE HOOD: A two-time All-NBDL second team selection in Mobile (01-02 and 02-03), Derek Hood put up 11 points and grabbed eight rebounds for the Mavericks on Tuesday.
OVER 30: With the start of the Rocky Mountain Revue in Utah and the Minnesota Summer League at the Target Center on Friday, over 30 more players with D-League ties will be in NBA summer league action.
