CONNECTIONS... A peek at how some NBA players with D-League connections fared Wednesday.
-21 players and 7 referees that have worked in the D-League were in uniform for 10 NBA games.
-2003 D-League MVP Devin Brown (FAY) scored 17 and grabbed 7 rebounds in 34 minutes for the Hornets.
-2005 D-League MVP Matt Carroll (ROA) scored 11 and had 8 rebounds in 36 minutes for the Bobcats.
-2003 D-League Defensive Player of the Year Mikki Moore (ROA) scored 19 & had 6 boards in 30 minutes for the Nets.
-Andray Blatche (ROA) had 12 rebounds in 24 minutes for Washington.
-Andre Brown (SF) hit the go ahead basket with 23 seconds remaining for Seattle. He tallied 9 points in 15 minutes.

ON ASSIGNMENT: Seventeen first or second year NBA players have been assigned 21 times to D-League affiliates this season. Since the system went into place prior to last season, 25 NBA teams have made 63 assignments spread over 46 players. Players can be assigned up to three times during a season. There are currently four players on assignment; Pops Mesah-Bonsu and Maurice Ager from Dallas to Fort Worth, Patrick O'Bryant from Golden State to Bakersfield and Mouhamed Sene from Seattle to Idaho.
READING WITH THE FORCE: Sioux Falls Skyforce coaches Mo McHone and Nate Tibbetts, along with players and front office staff, are visiting over 4,800 students at 12 Sioux Falls area schools as part of John Morrell Read to Achieve Week. The Skyforce is emphasizing the importance of reading and showing respect to others and yourself by saying no to drugs and alcohol.
STARS IN VEGAS: Rosters for the Gillette D-League All-Star Game in association with 24 Hour Fitness were announced on Tuesday. The first-ever D-League All-Star Game is scheduled for Saturday Feb. 17 on Center Court at NBA All-Star Jam Session at the Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino. Tip off is scheduled for 2 p.m. PT, immediately following the practices for the NBA All-Stars. The game will air live on NBA TV. Click on D-LEAGUE.com for more details.
