D-Fenders win over Erie BayHawks

EL SEGUNDO, CA - Courtney Fortson recorded the third triple-double for the Los Angeles D-Fenders this season in a 113-94 victory over the Erie Bayhawks at Toyota Sports Center on Saturday night. The point guard joined Elijah Millsap and Eniel Polynice as the only three players in D-Fenders history to register a triple-double.

Fortson, who returned to the D-Fenders for the first time after being called-up by the Los Angeles Clippers on January 16th, finished with 13 points, 10 rebounds and 10 assists in the win.

The D-Fenders (19-10) were led in scoring by Gerald Green (23 points, 8 rebounds) while Derrick Caracter (18 points, 10 rebounds) logged his second consecutive double-double despite coming off the bench. Additionally, Elijah Millsap tallied 14 points and nine rebounds, and Brandon Costner along with Mardy Collins each dropped in 11 points to round out the D-Fenders in double-digits.

Mike James paced Erie (13-14) with 25 points and six assists, Kyle Goldcamp registered a 21-point, 17-rebound double-double, and D.J. Kennedy scored 17 points to go with nine rebounds in the loss.

On the night, the D-Fenders shot 51.8 percent and limited the Bayhawks to 34.5 percent from the field. Los Angeles has now held opponents below 40 percent shooting on eight occasions this season.

The two-game series between the D-Fenders and the Bayhawks will conclude at Toyota Sports Center on Monday, Feb. 6 at 7 p.m. A limited number of tickets are still available, and the game is available for viewing online through NBA Futurecast.
