
D.C. United waives Joe Vide

Washington, D.C. (February 24, 2009) - D.C. United announced today the club has waived midfielder Joe Vide. The 24-year old made thirteen first team appearances for D.C over seven months with the club last season.
"We would like to thank Joe for his contributions on and off the field, and wish him the best of luck in the future," said United General Manager Dave Kasper.
Vide started last season with the San Jose Earthquakes after being taken in the 2007 MLS Expansion Draft on 11/21/07. He played in five first team games (two starts), totaling 274 minutes on the pitch before being waived on 7/14/08. United acquired the midfielder via waivers on 7/16/08. Vide immediately stepped onto the field for United and finished the year with a goal against Colorado on 8/2, which was tabbed the Sierra Mist Goal of the Week. He played in eight League games (seven starts), totaling 590 minutes on the field. In other competitions, he played in five games (three starts).
