
D.C. United Waives Greg Janicki, Ely Allen

Washington, D.C. (November 30, 2009) - D.C. United announced today the club has released defender Greg Janicki and midfielder Ely Allen.
Janicki originally came to the Black-and-Red on loan on 9/12/08. After impressing late in the season, the club signed the defender in early 2009. Janicki amassed 422 minutes of play over seven appearances, including five starts during League play. He played five games (all starts) in United's U.S. Open Cup run and started two games in CONCACAF Champions League action.
A mid-season signing, Allen joined the team on July 24. Though he didn't see any action in League play, the midfielder played in three CONCACAF Champions League games (two starts) for a total of 95 minutes.
