
D.C. United players to make two appearances tomorrow

WASHINGTON, DC (October 28, 2005) - D.C. United players are set to make two separate appearances tomorrow, Saturday, October 29. First, at 10 a.m. 2004 MLS Cup MVP Alecko Eskandarian will assist the Verizon Hispanic Support Organization (HSO), as it launches its third Young Readers Program, in partnership with the League of United Latin American Citizen (LULAC). The event will take place beginning at 10 a.m. at Powell Elementary School (Ward 4). At 11 a.m., United's Nick Van Sicklen, Nana Kuffour and Tim Merritt will be on hand to take part in the First Annual "Healthy People & Healthy Communities" Health Fair & Walk, co-hosted by Ward 8 Councilmember Marion Barry and the DC Department of Health. The festivities will take place at the Ketcham Elementary School site in Ward 4.
