The very next better, second baseman Luke Dykstra grounded into a 4-3 fielders choice but Baez scored on the play giving the D-Braves a one run lead.
Danville's lead held until the top of the fourth inning when the Blue Jays answered with two runs to take a 2-1 lead. The Blue Jays got back to back singles from first baseman Gabe Clark, and right fielder DJ McKnight. Left fielder Nick Sinay was then hit by a pitch to load the bases for designated hitter Freddy Rodriguez. Rodriguez would send a sac fly deep to right center field as Clark scored on the play. McKnight later scored on a passed ball to give the 'Jays a 2-1 lead.
A crazy bottom of the sixth inning saw to runs score for the D-Braves to put them ahead 3-2. Baez lead off the inning with a single straight up the middle. Dykstra then hit the ball to the third baseman and the third baseman had to make a tough play ranging to his left as the ball scooted by him. The play was originally ruled an error but was changed to a base hit and Dykstra extended his hitting streak to seven games. With Baez on third and Dykstra on first, a passed ball allowed Dykstra to move to second, with Baez staying at third. Castro then stepped up to the plate and walked to load the bases for out fielder Jose Morel. Morel popped up in the infield with no outs, so the infield fly rule was in effect, however, the ball was dropped by short stop Yeltsin Grudino and Morel was out, but Baez scored to tie the game in the bottom of the sixth. Grudino was charged with an error and Morel was not awarded an RBI. Trey Keegan then stepped up to the plate and the braves scored on an infield ground ball to the shortstop to make the score 3-2 D-Braves. That score would hold as the D-Braves held off a late rally by the Blue Jays.
Reliever Sean McGlaughlin came in with two outs in the bottom of the ninth to record his second save of the year. The University of Georgia product got Gudino to ground out to the second baseman to end the game and give the Braves a series sweep of the Bluefield Blue Jays.
