
Cyclones Skid Hits Six as They Fall 5-3 to Renegades

CONEY ISLAND, NY - Hudson Valley reversed a 2-0 deficit to beat the Brooklyn Cyclones, the High-A affiliate of the New York Mets, 4-3 Thursday night at Maimonides Park. The Renegades have won the first three games of the six-game set.

In the top of the sixth, the half inning after Brooklyn scored to take the lead, Hudson Valley scored four runs against Justin Lasko and Josh Hejka. The Renegades tied the game on consecutive RBI singles by Andres Chaparro and Pablo Olivares before Kyle MacDonald's two-run double gave Hudson Valley a 4-2 cushion.
Joe Suozzi tripled into the right-center field gap, plating the first two runs of the game in the bottom of the fifth inning to give Brooklyn a 2-0 lead.
Hudson Valley's Charlie Ruegger and Carlos Espinal finished off the 'Clones, tossing three scoreless innings to keep the 4-3 lead.

NEWS AND NOTES
The Cyclones have lost six straight games. Hudson Valley has won 16 of 21 games in the head-to-head series. The two teams will play 36 games this season.
After giving up a run in the sixth inning, Brooklyn starter Justin Lasko snapped his scoreless streak at 23 2/3 innings.
Jose Peroza, called up from Low-A St. Lucie on Tuesday, snagged his first two hits with the Cyclones.
