Cincinnati Cyclones News Release

CINCINNATI, Ohio - The Cincinnati Cyclones will play the Las Vegas Wranglers in the Kelly Cup Finals. Game one of the best of seven series will be played at U.S. Bank Arena on Saturday, May 24 at 7:30pm. The Cyclones are the ECHL affiliate of the NHL's Montreal Canadiens and Nashville Predators.

The Cyclones advanced to the series by sweeping Johnstown in four games of the opening round, rallying to defeat Reading in seven games and then knocking off South Carolina in five games. This will be the first time in club history that the Cyclones and Wranglers have met.

This is the first time in Cyclones history that the club has advanced to the league finals. During the 2003 Kelly Cup playoffs, Cincinnati defeated Peoria in four games and Toledo in four games to advance to the Northern Conference Finals. The Cyclones were upended in seven games by Atlantic City. In that series, Cincinnati trailed three games to none and used a trio of wins to force the final game and a 3-2 defeat. The Cyclones finished a win away from advancing to the Finals in 2003.

The Cyclones (55-12-5) were the North Division, American Conference and Brabham Cup (best overall ECHL regular season record) champions. That was the best single season in club history and tied the league record for road wins (26).

Game one (Saturday, May 24) will be game ‘J' for season ticket holders and they should use that ticket for admission to that contest. Game two (Sunday, May 25) of that series, is ticket ‘K' for season ticket holders. Games three through five would be played at Las Vegas. If a sixth game is needed-that would be the ‘L' ticket in the package and the game would happen on Thursday, June 5. The seventh game, if necessary, would be ticket ‘M'.

Tickets for all Cyclones games can be purchased at the U.S. Bank Arena box office, all Ticketmaster outlets including select Kroger stores, charge by phone at 513-562-4949 or online at ticketmaster.com. The most up-to-date information and broadcast of the games can be found on our website www.cycloneshockey.com.
