COLUMBUS, OHIO (October 1, 2015) - For the second consecutive year the Brooklyn Cyclones have been awarded with Minor League Baseball's Promotion of the Year, this time for their Ambush Baseball event. The team was recognized at the annual Promotional Seminar, this year held in Columbus, Ohio, and received the award at Huntington Park, home of the Columbus Clippers (AAA).
Following the Minor League Baseball season, teams from all over the country gather for the annual "Golden Bobbleheads", MiLB's version of the Oscars. This season, the Cyclones were nominated for Best Theme Night for the Impractical Jokers take over MCU Park, and "Saved by the Bell Night," as well as best in-between inning contest for "Running Errands for Mr. Pitt" during Seinfeld Night 2, and Ambush Baseball for best non-game day event.
"Minor League Baseball is filled with some of the best and brightest in the sports industry," said Cyclones Vice President Steve Cohen. "So being recognized by our peers for our promotional efforts is something that we are incredibly proud of. Plus, the fact that we have been fortunate enough to win overall promotion of the year in back-to-back years is truly a reflection of the hard work and dedication of our entire front office staff."
In 2014, Salute to Seinfeld Night was recognized for Best Theme Night and Best Overall Promotion at the Minor League Baseball Promotional Seminar in Oklahoma City, OK.
Other recipients of awards at the 2015 Golden Bobbleheads included the Fresno Grizzlies (AAA) for their "Taco Truck Throwdown" as Best Theme Night, the Lakewood Blue Claws (A) and "Ball Brawl" for Best In-Between Inning Contest" and the Columbus Clippers (AAA) for the Central Ohio Homeless Veterans Stand Down as Best Charity Promotion.
