2014-15 FIRST FACE-OFF

TONIGHT'S MATCHUP: For the first time in this postseason, the Cyclones will be forced to win a game to keep their Kelly Cup aspirations alive. After a 4-2 defeat on Saturday, Cincinnati will play its final home game of the playoffs tonight in hopes of extending this series to a decisive seventh bout in Alaska. Since returning to ECHL play in 2007, the Clones are 8-4 in elimination contests.

SCOUTING THE ACES: Rob Murray's club rallied twice in Game 5 to secure a 4-2 win on Saturday night. Their top scorer, Nick Mazzolini, ended his three-game point drought by contributing an assist on the Aces' final goal. Overall, he has collected 29 tallies (10g, 19a) in 20 tilts. Jordan Morrison has also been an important piece to Alaska's puzzle this postseason. After another multi-point game on Saturday, he's now accumulated nine goals and five assists in 20 appearances. Goaltender Gerald Coleman turned aside 28 shots to earn his ninth win of the Kelly Cup Playoffs. In 13 games, he's gone 9-4 with a 1.43 goals-against average.

LAST HEAD-TO-HEAD MATCH-UP: JUNE 7, 2014: Brad Richard potted the game-winning goal as the Alaska Aces edged past the Cyclones by a 4-2 final score in front of 4,488 at U.S. Bank Arena. With the Game 5 win, the Aces took a 3-2 lead in the best-of-seven series. Although six different Cyclones recorded a point in the loss, goaltender Gerald Coleman kept Cincinnati out of the back of net while his teammates Jordan Morrison and Turner Elson both turned in two-point performances.

Rare Feats: The only four teams in ECHL history to win the Brabham Cup as regular season champion and the Kelly Cup as postseason champion are South Carolina in 1996-97, Alaska in 2005-06 and 2010-11 and Cincinnati in 2007-08.

Down on the Farm: Between the two teams, 16 players on the Kelly Cup Finals rosters have been selected in the National Hockey League Entry Draft with Alaska having seven players and Cincinnati having nine.
