Cyclones back home at the Florence Civic Center on Friday and Saturday Night

The Pee Dee Cyclones return to the Florence Civic Center this coming Friday & Saturday night, January 13th & 14th, as they'll face two of the hottest teams in the SPHL. Friday night, the Cyclones will host the Columbus Cottonmouths, winners of eleven straight, and Saturday night, the first place Fayetteville Fire Antz return to the FCC. Then the week will wrap up with a return visit to Knoxville on Sunday afternoon. The Cyclones are currently in sixth place in the SPHL with a record of 10 wins-16 losses-3 overtime losses.

Upcoming games & promotions:

Friday, January 13th vs. Columbus Cottonmouths (7:35PM / At Florence Civic Center). Fifth meeting of the year vs. Columbus with the Cottonmouths leading the season series 2-1-1. Columbus is the hottest team in the SPHL having won eleven in a row and have moved into second place, just one point behind the first place Fayetteville Fire Antz & Knoxville Ice Bears.

Saturday, January 14th vs. Fayetteville Fire Antz (7:35PM / At Florence Civic Center). It will be the eighth meeting in the "Press Box I-95 Challenge Cup Series" with the Fire Antz leading 6 games to 1. The Fire Antz begin the week still in first place in the SPHL but are tied with Knoxville. The Fire Antz have lost two in a row.

Sunday, January 15th @ Knoxville Ice Bears (5:00PM). It's the seventh meeting of the year against Knoxville. The Ice Bears lead the season series 5-1. Knoxville is currently tied for first place in the SPHL with a record of 18 wins-8 losses-4 overtime losses and has won five in a row. At the Knoxville Civic Center, the Ice Bears are 10-1-1. Cyclones Player Notes:

Defenseman Dan Pszenyczny has been activated from injured reserve and should be in the line-up this weekend. Goaltender Mark Cairns has been placed on waivers. Forward Mark Allen remains on injured reserve with an upper body injury.

Forward Edan Welch remains the Cyclones leading scorer with 20 goals & 18 assists for 38 points in 29 games. Welch is sixth in scoring in the SPHL. Forward Shaun Aebig is second in scoring for Pee Dee with 10 goals & 26 assists for 36 points in 26 games. Aebig is eighth in the SPHL in scoring. Forward Chris Murphy leads the team in penalty minutes with 147 minutes in 28 games.

Sunday, January 15th: 8AM: Team departs for Knoxville (Away Game in Knoxville)
