Cyclones At Home, New Faces In Line-Up

The Pee Dee Cyclones return home to the Florence Civic Center on Friday Night (January 13th) and Saturday Night (January 14th) looking to end their current four game losing streak. The sixth place Cyclones (record: 10 wins-16 losses-3 overtime losses) will play four games in the next five nights and Head Coach Mark Richards will have a number of new faces in the lineup.

Since January 2nd, the Cyclones have made the following player transactions to the active roster: 1/2/06: Traded Forward Patrick Doherty to Jacksonville for Forward Geoff Rollins Defenseman Alex Vasserman placed on waivers 1/6/06: Goaltender Bryan Worosz added to roster 1/9/06: Defenseman Craig Lazaruk recalled to ECHL and Goaltender Mark Cairns placed on waivers Defenseman Dan Pszenyczny activated from injured reserve 1/10/06: Forward Chris Murphy recalled to ECHL 1/11/06: Defenseman Craig Lazaruk & Forward Chris Murphy returned from ECHL Forward Mark Allen placed on 2nd 30-day injured reserve (upper body injury) Traded Forward Shaun Aebig to Jacksonville for Forward Derrell Upton Defenseman Mike Kirby added to roster

This weekend's games: Friday, January 13th vs. Columbus Cottonmouths (7:35PM / @ Florence Civic Center): Fifth meeting of the year with Columbus and the Cottonmouths lead the season series 2-1-1.

Saturday, January 14th vs. Fayetteville Fire Antz (7:35PM / @ Florence Civic Center): Eighth meeting in the "Press Box I-95 Challenge Cup Series" with Fayetteville leads 6 games to 1.

Sunday , January 15th @ Knoxville Ice Bears (5:00PM). Seventh meeting of the year with the Ice Bears leading 5 games to 1. Follow the action on www.pointstreak.com

Tuesday, January 17th vs. Knoxville Ice Bears (7:35PM / @ Florence Civic Center). Final home game for the Cyclones until February 10th.

Cyclones Team Notes: With the player changes, the Cyclones roster stands at 18 active players and one player (Mark Allen) on injured reserve. Forward Geoff Rollins joined the Cyclones on last week's road trip. In two games he scored a goal and an assist. Rollins started the year with the Austin Ice Bats in the CHL. Goaltender Bryan Worosz has appeared in one game for Pee Dee. Bryan joined the club from the Toledo Storm of the ECHL. Forward Derrell Upton joins Pee Dee following stops with Pensacola (ECHL) and Jacksonville (SPHL) this season. The native of Toronto, Canada played five seasons in the CHL with Lake Charles, El Paso, Amarillo, and Fort Worth. Defenseman Mike Kirby started this season in the CHL with Corpus Christi & Fort Worth.
