Jacksonville Barracudas News Release

The Jacksonville Barracudas announce the signing of Robb Stauber, a former NHL-veteran goaltender, as well as the signing of Assistant Coach Brett Strot to a player contract.

Stauber played 62 NHL games in the 1990's with the Los Angeles Kings and Buffalo Sabres. The former Hobey Baker Award winner was most recently the Assistant Coach and Goaltending Coach for the NCAA powerhouse Minnesota Golden Gophers.

Strot played in 10 professional seasons, most recently playing 22 games with the Barracudas in the 2003-2004 season.

Stauber will start in goal tonight, and takes the place of goaltender Pat Berrigan. Berrigan was placed on the suspended list today by the Barracudas.

The Barracudas are in action tonight against the Fayetteville FireAntz, and again Friday against the Huntsville Havoc. It is another "Throw-Em Back Thursday", as draft beer will be 2-for-1 in the first period, and 50% off in the second, and the deal can be purchased behind section 108, and in the Arena Club.

Friday night is "Faith and Family Night", and groups are encouraged to book their tickets through the Barracudas office (904-367-1423), or arrive to the game early, due to the enormous response from faith-based groups throughout Jacksonville. The first 1,500 fans will receive thundersticks. Be sure not to miss this exciting event! All games begin at 7:05 pm, and are played at the Jacksonville Veterans Memorial Arena.
