DENVER - The Denver Cutthroats announced today the team will host a Celebrity Charity Game on February 9 at the Denver Coliseum as part of their "Pink at the Rink" weekend, presented by 9News. The charity game will take place before the second of two games against the Fort Worth Brahmas and will feature former NHL players against a team of local police and firefighter personnel.
Scheduled to appear in the game are former Colorado Avalanche players Rick Berry, Scott Parker, Joe Sakic, and Stephane Yelle, plus former Denver Grizzlies players Jeff Sirkka and Cutthroats head coach Derek Armstrong. "We are excited to bring this group of retired NHL players to the Coliseum to raise money and entertain our fans," Armstrong said. The celebrity game will take place before the Cutthroats square off against the Brahmas and is set to begin at 4:00 PM MST. The game will consist of two 20-minute periods. Doors open at 3:00 PM to those who have purchased a ticket to the Cutthroats game later that night. All tickets are good for both games.
The Cutthroats and Brahmas face off at 7:05 PM MST. Five dollars from every ticket sold to the Cutthroats game will be donated to charity.
