Second Half Comeback Falls Short As Energy Drop 111-106 Decision To Tulsa
January 22, 2013 - Central Hockey League (CHL) News Release
DES MOINES, IA, Jan 22, 2013- The Iowa Energy rallied from a 15 point deficit against the Tulsa 66ers but came up just short as they were defeated 111-106 Tuesday night.
Iowa trailed 53-39 at the half as Tulsa used a 9-0 spurt in the final minutes of the second quarter to take the double-digit lead.
The Energy erupted for 40 points in the third quarter to take a 79-75 lead into the final stanza, but couldn't hold off Oklahoma City Thunder assignee Jeremy Lamb who finished the game with 30 points. With Tulsa up by one and under two minutes to play, Lamb banked in a three-pointer from the top of the key to put Tulsa up four, a lead that Iowa couldn't overcome.
Othyus Jeffers led Iowa with a season high 22 points while Paul Harris added 20 points and 13 rebounds off the bench.
In additional to Lamb's big night, Rasual Butler contributed 26 points and Thunder assignee Daniel Orton finished with 19 points, 13 rebounds and 5 blocked shots. The win moves Tulsa to 11-11 on the season.
The Energy host Canton Friday night at 7pm. That game features $1 Hot Dogs as well as a halftime performance from Team AcroDunk. For more information on the Energy, visit www.IowaNBA.com.
