DENVER - Brad Smyth scored two goals and Kyle Quincey and A.J. Gale each had a season-high three assists to lead the Denver Cutthroats to a 5-3 win over the Fort Worth Brahmas on Friday night at the Denver Coliseum.

The Cutthroats extended their lead to three with 4:17 left in the period when Smyth scored his first of the game on a bouncing puck in front.
Fort Worth (1-3-1) battled back in the second period, scoring three straight goals to the tie the game, but Smyth picked up his second score of the night late in the stanza to give the Fish back the lead going into the second intermission. Smyth's goal came with 2:18 remaining in the period on a rebound in front.
The Cutthroats (2-3-0) extended their lead back to two as Brett Lutes scored his first of the season at 7:53. With Lutes crashing the net from the left side, the puck slid through the Fort Worth crease and on to Lutes' stick, where he fired it into the goal.
The Cutthroats finished 2-for-5 on the power play, while the Brahmas went 0-for-4.
