Cutters Turn Tables

A night after allowing 10 runs in State College, the Crosscutters plate 10 runs and defeat the Spikes 10-2 in the series finale to avoid being swept.

Cutters starter Chase Costello went a season-high five innings, allowing two runs on three hits and three walks. Costello struck-out a season-high nine batters en route to his first win of the season.

The Cutters bullpen combined to work four scoreless innings, allowing two hits and two walks while striking out eight batters. Pitching combined to strike out 17 batters, which is the 2nd most in a single game by the Cutters this season.

Hogan McIntosh and Trey Steffler each recorded a team-high two RBI for the Cutters offense, as seven different Cutters had an RBI in the win. Eight of the nine batters for Williamsport drew at least one walk and seven of the nine scored at least one run.

The 10 runs are the most scored at home this season by Williamsport and the second most runs scored in a single game.

The 2021 Saw-Back series moves in favor of the Cutters, having won three of the five games played. They will resume the series next Tuesday in State College.
