Williamsport Crosscutters News Release
The Williamsport Crosscutters suffered their worst loss of the season, allowing a season-high 14 runs, in their 14-2 loss to the Trenton Thunder.
Devin Smith had a rough outing, allowing nine runs on eight hits over three innings of work. He did finish with two strikeouts, taking the loss.
A night after working four scoreless frames, the Cutters bullpen allowed five runs, on seven hits over six innings. They surrendered just one walk and struck out eight in the losing effort.
Offensively, Trey Steffler finished the night 1-for-3 with a triple, the first for the Cutters this season. Christian Olivo picked up his first double of the year, ending the night 2-for-3 with an RBI. Freddie Matos also finished the night 2-for-4 with an RBI.
Cutters pitching surrendered a season-high 15 hits, including a season-high seven doubles and two triples in the loss.
Williamsport had their three-game win streak against Trenton snapped with the loss and fall to 4-2 at Muncy Bank Ballpark with the loss.
